Each voter selects up to 7 candidates for the HBA-USA Board of Directors. The voter provides  the HBA-USA member ID number
only
. The voter must avoid to provide his/her name.

Upon submission of the ballot, an electronic message with the selections of the voter is sent automatically to each one of the
three members of the
Returning Board, Theodoros Kapos (Harvard, Boston), Kyriaki Bakirtzi (UCLA) and Ioannis Michailidis
(Columbia University, New York). The members of the
Returning Board  have a list with the ID numbers of the HBA-USA members
that are
not linked with the names of the members.

Following submission of the ballot each member of the Returning Board crosses the ID of the voter out of the list. This does not allow
a member to vote more than once and at the same time does not reveal the name of the voter to the Returning Board.

Upon completion of the procedure, the Returning Board will provide the list of the ID numbers of the voters without revealing the
selections of each voter. This will give all candidates the opportunity to double-check with the complete members' list that
no fake IDs
were used during the election procedure.

On
January 17, 2010 the Returning Board members will compare the results and finalize the number of ballots that each candidate
collected. They will then
announce the final result to all members of the HBA-USA.

Within 10 days after the election, the candidate that will have collected the highest number of ballots calls for a meeting of the 7 first
candidates
and they form the new Board of Directors.
